Finance Minister Meets Asian Development Bank, Discussing Optimization in Southeast Asia
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani met Asian Development Bank (ADB) and discusses the optimization of ADB's role in Southeast Asia. The Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati met with the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the Directorate General of Taxes office in Jakarta to discuss the optimization of ADB's role in Southeast Asia. The minister expressed her hope that ADB could cooperate and collaborate with Indonesia in facing global issues, such as the Covid-19 pandemic and climate change. Sri Mulani also expressed her belief that ADD has a critical responsibility, especially concerning poverty elimination and realizing a prosperous region of Asia.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati welcomed the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the Directorate General of Taxes office.
The minister shared her meeting with ADB through her private Instagram account, @smindrawati. "Asian Development Bank is one of Indonesia's crucial partners, especially in regards to the development in Asia," wrote Sri Mulyani, quoted on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Sri Mulyani says that the ministry exchanged opinions with the ADB delegates led by the Executive Director of ADB Sameer Kumar Khare. During the meeting, the priority discussion was regarding the optimization of ADB's role in Southeast Asia.
In addition, Sri Mulyani hopes that ADB could cooperate and collaborate with Indonesia in facing global issues since there are various challenges that are impossible to be tackled by a singular country, such as the Covid-19 pandemic and climate change.
"It is necessary to have a multilateral spirit and deliver [results] faster and better," she said.
Through the meeting, Finance Minister agrees that ADB has a critical responsibility, especially concerning poverty elimination and realizing a prosperous region of Asia.
"I ensure that the Finance Minister will continue to be a reliable partner to guarantee an effective and efficient delivery of [ADB's] purposes," Sri Mulyani said.
